D'Youville now offers Music Therapy!

Music Therapy is the therapeutic use of music to accomplish individualized goals in a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional. Music Therapy interventions can be designed to promote wellness, manage stress, alleviate pain, enhance memory, improve communication, and provide unique opportunities for interaction. This special, unique intervention is now available for all D'Youville's residents including those in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and Alzheimer's Special Care units.

For more information, please call Angela Ouillette, Activities Director, at (978) 569-1000, extension 2835.

Remotivation Therapy

A recent enhancement to D'Youville's Quality Care Program

D'Youville is pleased to offer interested residents a new form of therapy which helps provide a boost to their independence. It also helps to lift the spirits when a resident is feeling blue.

Remotivation Therapy is a group technique designed to stimulate a participant's awareness, interaction, verbalization, interest, self-esteem, and self-efficiency. This therapeutic technique is especially useful in people who have regressed, become withdrawn, depressed, forgetful, disoriented, or are bored. It has also been shown to be beneficial to all in a nursing home setting.

D'Youville's Remotivation Therapists are certified through the Bay State Remotivation Council, Inc. If you would like to learn more about Remotivation Therapy for your loved one or to find out how you can become certified, contact Angela Ouillette at (978) 569-1000.
