Social Services

Our Social Services Department is available for you and or your loved one.

Our Social Services Department consists of 3 licensed and experienced staff members, dedicated to fostering a comfortable home for our residents, whether short-term or long-term. Our social services team members will work closely with your loved one to ensure all of their needs are met in a timely manner. Should you wish to speak with one of our staff members, please call Lucille Jerome, Director of Social Services, at (978) 569-1000, extension 2659.

The Social Services Department also organizes Quarterly Family Meetings for the family members of D'Youville's residents.  Topics are always based on the interests of family members and have included elderly nutrition and exercise, dementia, introductions to various D'Youville departments, hospice care, and Parkinson's disease.  Click here for more information regarding Quarterly Family Meetings.

In addition to the Social Services Team, every nursing home has an Ombudsman assigned to it. An Ombudsman is a specially trained and certified resource person assigned by the state who will advocate for residents, keep their confidence, and attempt to resolve issues. D'Youville is fortunate to have Rose McGarry and Rick Ellingworth as Ombudsmen. Both visit D'Youville regularly and can be reached at (800) 892-0890.

Resident Rights

The staff of D'Youville works hard to ensure that our residents' rights are being upheld. Upon admission, residents and families are provided with a Summary of Resident Rights as well as a copy of the Guidelines for Rights as published by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office. Resident Rights are also posted throughout the facility and can be found in the Social Services Office and at each nursing station. Families and residents may review these at any time. If you have any questions please visit or call the Social Services Department at the phone number above.
